The Custom Order Process - New Jewelry Designs
If you haven't found quite what you're looking for I will work with you to create a piece of custom designed jewelry. If you haven't yet seen the section with some of my example jewelry designs, you might find some ideas for unique rings , pendants , bracelets , earrings or
men's rings there to inspire you.
All customized work is hand fabricated, so there will be minor variations. Please note that handcrafted jewelry will include subtle differences, even when a design is reproduced. Please allow for these slight variations, as no two pieces of handmade jewelry can be identical. Please do not hesitate to call or email if you want more information about what these slight differences might be.
If the piece cannot be recreated due to unavailability of a similar stone, I will contact you before charging your credit card to discuss alternatives. You may cancel the order at that time if my suggestions for alternatives are not acceptable!
To discuss a variation of any piece, call 615-452-3455 or send an email with the inventory number. Include your phone number in the email and a convenient time for us to call if you would like to discuss this in detail instead of through emails.
I can also work with you to create a new unique design using stones or metal of your choice. |
The Custom Order Process - Phase I and Phase II
There are two phases to ordering a custom designed piece of jewelry. Phase I starts with a discussion about the piece, the general design style, stones and metals to be used. Phase II is complete after I send you images of the design and you give your approval .
Phase I of the Custom Jewelry Order |
The custom order process for a new jewelry design starts with your email or phone call. During this first phase I ask you to tell us something about the jewelry you want (the type, stones, metal or anything else important to you).
I will help you in the design process by asking questions and making suggestions so the final design is what you have envisioned. |
|
This process usually involves several phone conversations or emails to ensure I understand what you want your jewelry to look like.
I will make sure I cover the stones, sizing of the piece, metals, finish, general design style, weight of the finished piece and an estimated price and delivery schedule. |
Our Responsibility
I see part of my responsibility as your custom jeweler to offer guidance about design, size, weight, stones and metals so the piece is not only comfortable to wear, but one that receives compliments every time you wear it and becomes one of your favorite pieces of jewelry - an heirloom you want to pass on.
Part of this responsibility is offering alternative suggestions to ensure that your custom piece is one you will hand down from one generation to another. This is something I believe is missing in today's mass-produced jewelry market.
For instance, if you have asked for a pair of earrings with specific stones in a certain size I would warn you if that would result in very heavy earrings and suggest an alternative for the stone or its size. I might also suggest using a drusy in earrings or a pendant instead of in a ring or bracelet because drusies are very fragile. |
Phase II of the Custom Jewelry Order
The second phase of the process begins after I have a clear understanding of your desires obtained from our phone conversations or email correspondence.
In this phase, I create a design, or designs, using a computer graphics program and digital images of the actual (or sample) stones. |
|
When the design's are ready, I will contact you and you will have the chance to review the completed jewelry piece.
